You would think it would be neat to be young again, and have your dad own a really cool Mustang shop. You would always have the coolest cars on campus, right? Well, yes, it's true in this case. A few years back, David wanted to build a special car for his son Jeff. The result was Big Red, a 1965 coupe they restored from the ground up. David and Jeff have done a lot of work to this Mustang, and there's still work left to do, such as a future disc brake conversion!

This 1965 Coupe sports a Mayer Cowl Induction Hood, Street Apron (w/front bumper usable), and Fiberglass Trunk and Fender Extensions with Spoiler. David and Jeff chose a Candy Apple Red paint job and a Mustangs Plus stripe kit for a nice accent.

David and Jeff put the Mustangs Plus 5 Leaf Reverse Eye
Spring and Handling Kit on Big Red. This kit uses Mustangs
Plus 620 front coil springs and 1/4" polyurethane coil spring
insulators to lower the car 1" in the front and 1-1/2" in the rear. Combined with the 16"x8" wheels give the car a low and lean look. You can get this look for your Mustang too. Be sure to check out our parts department while you're visiting our site.

The 16"x8"Vintage 45 wheels and 225.50x16 tires really fill the wheel wells out nicely. Using this wheel is a nice compliment to the Mustangs Plus Spring and Handling Kit.

In this picture you also get a nice view of the Cowl Induction
Hood. You gain almost three inches of clearance when you
use this hood which allows you to use taller manifolds and air cleaners than those that came from the factory.

Underneath the hood is a 351 Windsor fully tricked out with
Ford Motorsport chrome valve covers, a Russel Hose Dress
Up Kit, and a Ford Motorsport Underdrive Pulley Kit. Jeff installed a Chrome Curved Monte Carlo Bar and Chrome Export Brace.

The exhaust consists of a Dr. Gas 2-1/2" system with the Dr. Gas Crossover and Spin Trap Mufflers to reduce back
pressure and improve overall performance. The Spin Traps
also give this Mustang a deep, rich throaty sound as it cruises down the road.

To keep things cool, they installed a Wellbuilt four row radiator. This doubles the stock cooling capabilities. As many of us have found out, the factory two row radiator just doesn't always do the job!
